    Understand the Users

    The users are at the center of everything we do. We must avoid relying solely on second-hand information and instead focus on user outcomes and data to truly understand their needs and desires.

    Consistency

    While we strive to avoid uniformity, we must also be consistent in our design choices. Reusing well-tested design patterns and using ubiquitous language can create a sense of familiarity for our users.

    Accessibility & Aesthetics

    Accessibility is not a feature we can bolt-on as an afterthought. We must take the time to delight our users and make a strong first impression by creating beautiful, intuitive designs.

    Clarity

    To create an effective product, we must provide structure and hierarchy to guide users through their experience. Giving users feedback on their actions and avoiding the paradox of choice can also make their decision-making process more manageable.
